Mitchell will host the official starting point for the world's largest cross country air race, the 13th EAA Annual Airventure Cup race. Airplanes will begin landing in Mitchell on Thursday, July 22, 2010. They will depart on Sunday, July 25th, at 9am on their way to Oshkosh, Wisconsin air show. It will be open to the public.
There will be a pancake feed at the airport, Saturday, July 24th, from 8:30am-11:00am.
The Young Eagles will be giving free rides, Saturday, July 24th from 8:00am-4:30pm for kids, ages 8-17.
